Philippe Halsman said that "because when you jump concentrates only on that and then the mask falls and personality emerges, and is actually a liberating process, a disconnect with everything, I have not seen anyone jumping in the air without a smile unless expressly sour some on purpose. I also like that they chose to fly holding hands ... that is what exists between the sky and the ground in this picture, love, marriage and complicity.
